BCACC CEO Michael Radano appointed to Board of Directors of the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE)
Experienced association leader brings nearly two decades of expertise in governance, strategic growth, organizational transformation, and professional advocacy to national leadership role.
VICTORIA, BC, Oct. 22, 2026 /CNW/ — The BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) is pleased to announce that its Chief Executive Officer, Michael Radano, MBA, CAE, ICD.D, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE), the national organization dedicated to advancing excellence in association leadership and management.
Radano brings nearly two decades of experience in Canada’s association and not-for-profit sectors, complemented by years of executive leadership across national and international organizations. Since entering the association sector in 2008 with Certified General Accountants of Canada, he has held senior executive positions with the Society of Translators and Interpreters of BC, MOSAIC, and BCACC, consistently helping organizations strengthen governance, diversify revenues, enhance member value, and achieve ambitious strategic objectives.
A Certified Association Executive (CAE) since 2013 and holder of the Institute of Corporate Directors’ ICD.D designation, Radano brings a distinctive combination of association management expertise, entrepreneurial thinking, financial stewardship, and governance experience.
His appointment to CSAE’s Board provides an opportunity to contribute to the organization’s mission of advancing association excellence, strengthening leadership capabilities, and supporting the long-term sustainability and relevance of Canada’s association sector.
“Associations play an essential role in Canadian society, representing professions, advancing public policy, establishing standards, and strengthening the communities they serve,” said Radano. “Having spent nearly two decades helping associations navigate change, grow, and deliver meaningful results, I am honoured to join CSAE’s Board. I look forward to contributing my experience in governance, strategic transformation, innovation, and revenue diversification to help CSAE strengthen the association sector and support the next generation of association leaders.”
Radano’s appointment builds on his longstanding commitment to professional leadership and governance, including his service on the Board of the Canadian Network of Agencies for Regulation (CNAR). His experience bridging association management, professional regulation, and private-sector business practices provides a valuable perspective on the evolving challenges facing member-based organizations.
Since becoming CEO of BCACC in 2021, Radano has led significant organizational growth and transformation, including increased membership and revenues, diversified revenue streams, expanded professional advocacy, and greater public awareness of mental health and the clinical counselling profession. Under his leadership, BCACC has played an important role in securing the removal of GST from psychotherapy services and advancing the provincial regulation of psychotherapy in British Columbia.
“The opportunity to serve on CSAE’s Board will also strengthen my leadership at BCACC by bringing new perspectives, innovative practices, and national connections that will help us continue delivering on our strategic priorities and creating lasting value for our members and the public,” added Radano.
