Next week, Montreal menswear designer and online retailer Frank & Oak will be opening a soccer-inspired pop-up shop, in collaboration with Toronto FC, at 567 Queen St. West in Toronto.
Opening on October 16 at 10:00 a.m., the shop will remain occupied by Toronto FC and Frank & Oak until October 25.
Frank & Oak has over a million members who subscribe to its online service, and processes over 35,000 orders per month for customers in Canada and the United States.
Frank & Oak’s Montreal brick-and-mortar store in the Mile End district has been operating for over a year now. With a coffee bar and barber shop located inside, it has become a decidedly hip destination in an already quintessentially hip neighbourhood.
The Toronto FC line will feature eight pieces designed by Frank & Oak, ranging from a $35 T-shirt or scarf to a $345 varsity jacket.
It’s not the retail pioneer’s first foray into the Big Smoke. This time last year, Frank & Oak opened a pop-up shop in Toronto, the Outpost on Queen Street West, from November until January, to take advantage of the holiday shopping season.
The Toronto FC pop-up shop isn’t the only surprise Frank & Oak has in store for Toronto. It will be opening a second brick-and-mortar retail space, adding to its Montreal presence, on Queen Street West in early November.
Perhaps Warren Buffet should hire the Frank & Oak crew to overhaul his cringeworthy line of Berkshire Hathaway activewear (not a joke, unfortunately).
