Paralympic Auditorium and memorabilia wall celebrate three decades of partnership, Paralympic excellence and a shared commitment to inclusion

KIRKLAND, QC, Nov. 5, 2026 /CNW/ — Pfizer Canada marked 30 years of partnership with the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC) by officially naming its headquarters auditorium the Paralympic Auditorium and unveiling a permanent memorabilia wall celebrating the athletes, milestones and moments that have helped shape the Paralympic Movement in Canada.

The milestone also recognizes Pfizer Canada’s longstanding relationship with the Paralympic Movement. Pfizer Canada is now the longest-standing corporate partner of the Paralympic Movement worldwide, an achievement highlighted earlier this year during a visit to Pfizer Canada by International Paralympic Committee President, Andrew Parsons.

The announcement was made during a special event bringing together Paralympians, representatives of the Canadian Paralympic Committee, elected officials and their representatives, Pfizer colleagues and community partners.

The newly named Paralympic Auditorium and accompanying memorabilia wall create a permanent tribute to the athletes, coaches, volunteers and advocates who have contributed to the growth of Para sport and the Paralympic Movement in Canada. The space also celebrates the achievements, moments of joy and shared experiences that have brought people together through Paralympic sport.

Over the course of Pfizer Canada’s 30-year partnership with the CPC, Canada’s Paralympic journey has evolved significantly, with stronger athlete development pathways, growing visibility and Canadian athletes achieving extraordinary success on the world stage. The partnership has been grounded in a shared belief in human potential, equality of opportunity and excellence without barriers.

“Thirty years of partnership is an extraordinary milestone and a testament to what can be achieved when organizations share a long-term commitment to inclusion, excellence, and collaboration,” said Karen O’Neill, CEO, Canadian Paralympic Committee. “Pfizer Canada has been alongside the Paralympic Movement through an incredible and significant period of growth and change, and we thank them for their enduring support. This permanent tribute celebrates not only our partnership, but the athletes and people who continue to advance Paralympic sport and champion the power of Para sport to create a more inclusive, accessible society for all Canadians.”

“For 30 years, our partnership with the Canadian Paralympic Committee has been about much more than sport. It has been built on a shared belief in human potential, inclusion and excellence,” said An Van Gerven, President, Pfizer Canada. “We have had the privilege of watching Canada’s Paralympic Movement grow and seeing Canadian Para athletes redefine what excellence looks like. There is also so much joy in celebrating their achievements and the moments that bring people together. The Paralympic Auditorium and memorabilia wall are a lasting recognition of that legacy and a reminder of what is possible when barriers are removed and people have the opportunity to reach their full potential.”

The renamed space reflects a partnership that has evolved alongside the Paralympic Movement itself. From supporting Canada’s Paralympic delegation in earlier Games to Pfizer Canada’s role as Official Team Health Partner, the relationship has continued to grow while remaining rooted in a shared commitment to inclusion and excellence. As Pfizer Canada and the Canadian Paralympic Committee celebrate 30 years together, both organizations look ahead to the next chapter of the partnership and to continuing to advance opportunities for athletes and a more inclusive future through sport.
