Media advisory -Media Positions at Rideau Hall on the Installation Day of the 31st Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada
OTTAWA, ON, June 5, 2026 /CNW/ – On June 8, 2026, members of the media will be able to capture the departure of the motorcades of both Governor General Mary Simon and Governor General Designate Louise Arbour as they depart for the installation ceremony, which will take place at the Senate of Canada.
Media members will also be able to capture the new governor general’s return to Rideau Hall following the ceremony. She will inspect a guard of honour and be welcomed by her family and by staff members of the Office of the Secretary to the Governor General. Members of the public will be able to witness the arrival.
