Media advisory – Governor General to award the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers to 39 deserving individuals during a ceremony at Rideau Hall

OTTAWA, ON, April 21, 2026 /CNW/ – Her Excellency the Right Honourable Mary Simon, Governor General of Canada, will present the Sovereign’s Medal for Volunteers to 39 recipients during a ceremony in the Ballroom at Rideau Hall.

The ceremony will be held during National Volunteer Week 2026, which runs from April 19 to 25. Through tireless and selfless volunteerism, the recipients being recognized have not only made their communities a better place but have also brought honour to Canada.
