A portal featuring more than 400 games developed in Québec is also launched

MONTRÉAL, Nov. 4, 2026 /CNW/ — Québec’s immense talent will be in the spotlight on Saturday, November 14, with the first-ever Buy a Québec Video Game Day (Journée j’achète un jeu vidéo québécois). The event will allow consumers – from passionate gamers to newcomers – to discover and purchase the original, stimulating and entertaining games designed and created here, and then enjoy them solo, with family or with friends. It will also be the perfect opportunity to find gifts for yourself or others ahead of the holidays.

“Québec is recognized around the world as an exceptional breeding ground for talent and creativity,” says Chloé Lussier, CEO of Lowbirth Games and spokesperson for Buy a Québec Video Game Day. “However, our games are often better known abroad than at home. In fact, they are played by hundreds of millions of people worldwide. This initiative will give them major visibility, as it will our creators and the entire Québec industry. Titles like South of Midnight, Sea of Stars and Paralives are gems recognized everywhere that we can all be proud of.”

Our video game artists and developers deserve recognition comparable to that of other cultural professionals in film, literature and beyond. Games created in Québec enrich our collective cultural life and are part of our DNA. Economically, they generate an impact of $1.4 billion. By shining a spotlight on the know-how of our creators, Buy a Québec Video Game Day will strengthen our sense of pride in and attachment to our talent and our creations.

A Single Platform to Find It All

Another important new showcase for Québec’s game industry and its creators: an enhanced version of the Jeux vidéo du Québec (Games from Québec) portal will list every game developed entirely or partially in Québec by independent or international companies. Each one meets the minimum requirement of having benefited from a significant contribution by a team based in Québec.

This constantly updated online catalogue will boost the discoverability of Québec creations here at home, as well as among players everywhere. It already features more than 400 games available for purchase. Titles can be searched and found using half a dozen criteria: games for adults or children, genre, studio, platform and more.

“For the first time, Québec’s entire video game industry is coming together to connect with the local public,” says Émilien Roscanu, Senior Director, Communications and Operations at La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec. “Players finally have a simple tool to discover what is being created close to home, from small independent studios to major international productions. On November 14, we invite everyone to discover and play Games from Québec.”

“Rouge marketing is proud to have created the visual identity and website for Games from Québec, continuing its relationship with La Guilde. Through this work, we are helping to showcase local creative talent,” says Kim Parent, General Manager, Rouge marketing.

Buy a Québec Video Game Day and the Games from Québec portal are an initiative of La Guilde du jeu vidéo du Québec and its members in collaboration with Rouge marketing.
