TORONTO and ST. JOHN’S, NL, Nov. 2, 2026 /CNW/ — Creative Currency, the Toronto-based advertising agency and content studio, today announced it has acquired Launch Media, a fast-growing Newfoundland and Labrador marketing agency. As part of the firm’s first new acquisition, Creative Currency named St. John’s its Atlantic Canada headquarters.

Creative Currency

Launch Media founder and President Chris Dunne joins Creative Currency as Vice President, Atlantic Canada. He will lead the firm’s growth across Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island, with a mandate to expand and scale clients, talent and revenue in the region.

The acquisition supercharges Creative Currency’s existing Halifax team as the agency now has two Atlantic Canada offices and a deeper bench on the ground, giving clients across all four provinces more capacity, faster turnaround and local insight.

“Atlantic Canada is key growth market for us and we have always known that to win in this market you need to show up, in person and on the ground,” said Dennis Matthews, President of Creative Currency. “Chris is a builder who knows what it takes to win in Newfoundland and Labrador and across the region. He took Launch from one client to a roster with national reach in three years. That’s the ambition we look for, and we’re proud to have him and his team on board.”

A growth story on both sides of the deal

Launch Media opened in 2023 with a single client. In three years it has built a team of 10 designers, content creators, digital marketers and strategists, with clients in automotive, ocean technology, logistics, financial services and food, and a growing national footprint. That growth brought Launch to an inflection point. The next stage demands scale: deeper creative and production capacity, national media buying, and the backing to compete for larger mandates. Joining Creative Currency delivers all three.

For Creative Currency, ranked No. 1 on Adweek’s 2024 Fastest Growing Agencies list, the transaction adds an established book of business, a proven team and a permanent footprint on the ground in one of Canada’s most dynamic regional markets. Launch Media clients gain Creative Currency’s national creative, content and public affairs capabilities.

“We built Launch to punch above our weight. Now we don’t have to,” said Chris Dunne, Vice President, Atlantic Canada. “Our clients keep the people they know and gain the firepower of a national agency. Our team gets a bigger stage without leaving home. St. John’s just became an Atlantic headquarters, and we intend to earn it.”

An extended offering from Enterprise Canada

Creative Currency’s sister agency, Enterprise Canada, also benefits from this transaction by gaining client relationships and increased capacity on the ground. For more about Enterprise Canada, a leading national strategic communications firm: https://enterprisecanada.com

“We are proud to welcome Chris and the Launch team to our broader full-service offering,” said David Tarrant, Vice President, National Strategic Communications and Practice Lead, Atlantic Canada at Enterprise Canada and Strategic Advisor, Creative Currency. “Since Enterprise Canada opened our initial office in Halifax in 2021, our Atlantic Canadian team has grown by combining the very best talent in the entire country with a deep understanding of the local marketplace, delivering a unique offering. Creative Currency opening a new headquarters in my home province of Newfoundland and Labrador is an exciting next step in this journey.”
