RIM Struggles, but BlackBerry still a hit with Celebrities
Look at a stock chart of the past half-decade and it’s clear that Research in Motion has slipped in terms of market capitalization and market share. But has the brand completely lost its cool factor?
iPhones are everywhere, and Apple may have already won the category, but things might not be as doom and gloom as they seem for RIM’s street appeal, even in North America where much of its recent “late to the party” rep has been earned. With new Chief Marketing Offer Frank Boulben just days on the job, a fresh slate of ads, and its new BlackBerry 10 platform around the corner, RIM has managed, unlike say a George Clooney girlfriend, to stay present in the arms of the Star Weekly and Entertainment Tonight crowd.
Here’s some recent celebrity BlackBerry sightings:
Cantech Letter founder and editor Nick Waddell has lived in five Canadian provinces and is proud of his country's often overlooked contributions to the world of science and technology. Waddell takes a regular shift on the Canadian media circuit, making appearances on CTV, CBC and BNN, and contributing to publications such as Canadian Business and Business Insider.
