Speech to focus on the economic and productivity impacts of Canada’s first high-speed rail network and the path to construction

TORONTO, Jan. 20, 2026 /CNW/ – Members of the media are invited to attend a keynote address by Martin Imbleau, President and Chief Executive Officer, Alto, at the Empire Club of Canada, where he will provide an update on the Toronto–Québec City high-speed rail project and detail the public consultations that launch this month.

This event is in-person and virtual and will take place on Thursday, January 22, 2026, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Fairmont Royal York.

Mr. Imbleau will speak about Alto’s broader role in supporting productivity, jobs, and long-term economic growth and outline what comes next, including the rationale for selecting the Montréal–Ottawa segment as the first phase of the project. He will also discuss how public consultations will help shape alignment and station locations.

Following his remarks, Mr. Imbleau will participate in a fireside discussion with Sean Speer, Co-Founder and Editor-at-Large of the Hub.
