Invitation to media – The Honourable Joël Lightbound to announce Government of Canada support for over 50 businesses in Quebec’s biofood sector

In a climate marked by trade pressures, supply chain disruptions and increased competition, the Government of Canada is taking action by supporting businesses in the biofood sector that play a key role in Canada’s economy and food sovereignty.
It is in this context that the Honourable Joël Lightbound, Minister of Government Transformation, Public Works and Procurement and Quebec Lieutenant, will announce CED funding for 52 businesses and organizations in Quebec’s biofood sector.
These investments align with the vision outlined in the National Food Security Strategy launched on June 11, 2026.
