XTRA stock: this analyst just launched coverage
Haywood Capital Markets analyst Gianluca Tucci initiated coverage of Xtract One Technologies (Xtract One Technologies Stock Quote, Chart, News, Analysts, Financials TSX:XTRA) with a “Buy” rating and $1.00 target, saying regulatory tailwinds, a growing backlog and an improving profitability profile create an attractive risk-reward setup.
Tucci said demand for weapons-detection technology is increasingly shifting from discretionary spending toward compliance-driven procurement.
“We see most of our growth outlook being driven by state level mandates in education, healthcare facilities and other verticals, shifting XTRA’s product suite from a ‘nice to have’ to a ‘need to have,’” he said on Aug. 25.
Xtract One provides AI-powered threat detection and security systems used at schools, hospitals, arenas, stadiums and other facilities.
Tucci said the company’s trailing 12-month bookings reached $42.7-million, while backlog and pending installations totalled $45.1-million, compared with just $24.0-million in trailing revenue. He said converting that backlog into revenue is now the key catalyst.
Profitability is also improving. Xtract One reported its first positive Adjusted EBITDA quarter in fiscal Q3 2026 at $0.6-million, while operating and free cash flow were approximately breakeven. The company ended the period with $15.6-million in cash and no net debt.
Tucci also highlighted Xtract One’s U.S. Department of Homeland Security SAFETY Act designation, along with other certifications, as a competitive advantage as mandates for security screening expand.
“The Company holds a regulatory moat that raises switching costs for new entrants just as mandate-driven procurement cycles are forming,” he said.
Xtract One estimates its addressable market at US$4.6-billion in its core stadium, casino and theatre markets, expanding to US$39.5-billion across education, healthcare and other verticals, and more than US$135-billion at full scale.
Tucci expects Xtract One to generate negative Adjusted EBITDA of $3.2-million on revenue of $29.7-million in fiscal 2026, improving to $1.5-million in Adjusted EBITDA on revenue of $40.0-million in fiscal 2027.
