Ynvisible Interactive (Ynvisible Interactive Stock Quote, Chart, News, Analysts, Financials TSXV:YNV) CEO Ramin Heydarpour sat down with Jon Erlichman at the 20255 Cantech Investment Conference in Toronto on October 9th.

Heydarpour said Ynvisible develops ultra-low-power, customizable e-paper displays, flexible, paper-like screens designed for a wide range of applications, from retail shelf labels to diagnostic and interactive products. “Think of us as the face of the Internet of Things,” he said. “We make screens that are customizable, ultra-low power, and go everywhere.”

The company’s products, printed e-paper displays that use a low-power, paper-like screen technology, are thin, flexible, and readable in sunlight, while using almost no energy to operate. They are designed for use in areas where low energy use and flexibility matter most, such as retail price tags, smart shipping labels, and medical or wearable devices. Ynvisible has also created digital signs that run on solar power and smart labels that track freshness or temperature during transport, showing how its displays can bring real-time data to everyday objects without relying on heavy power sources.

Heydarpour described the global e-paper market as a US$20-billion to US$30-billion opportunity, dominated by a few large incumbents that have left “many unmet needs” in new, low-cost and flexible applications.

“That’s where we come in,” Heydarpour said. “We’re taking market share from the leaders and creating new opportunities through printed e-paper products.”

One of Ynvisible’s key advantages, he said, is its printed electronics process, which enables the company to manufacture e-paper displays at a significantly lower cost. “Printing our displays breaks the cost model,” he said. “It allows us to offer products that are not only ultra-low power and customizable but also very cost-effective.”

Heydarpour said he’s most excited by opportunities to integrate digital data into everyday objects, as the global shift toward digitalization accelerates.

“You get 90% of your information through screens, on your phone, your desktop, but you want to see it in real time,” he said. “You want to see it on your wearables, your wound care, your medical diagnostics. That’s what we enable, bringing digital information to everyday objects.”
