Opti-Harvest IPO

Opti-Harvest, founded in 2016, is an agricultural innovation company dedicated to enhancing the efficiency and productivity of farming through advanced technology. The company’s main focus is on developing climate-smart products that help growers maximize production, optimize land and labor resources, and increase water-use efficiency. Their patented Opti-Filter™ product lines, made from recyclable HDPE, are designed to optimize the use of sunlight in growing high-value specialty crops. For more on an Opti-Harvest IPO, see below.

The company’s mission is centered on helping farmers and commercial growers better utilize sunlight to increase marketable yield, improve water use efficiency, reduce labor costs, and mitigate adverse environmental impacts. Opti-Harvest’s products, developed by an interdisciplinary team with expertise in plant physiology, horticulture, optical physics, and field practice, have been tested and refined through extensive field trials in collaboration with major commercial growers in California, among other regions.

Opti-Harvest’s technology, particularly their Opti-Filter™, aims to enhance photosynthesis in plants, thereby boosting crop growth and yield. This technology not only targets maximizing crop yield and accelerating growth but also emphasizes sustainability, operating on solar power without the need for additional chemicals, fertilizers, or labor.

Their range of products includes Opti-Gro™, Opti-Panel™, and Opti-Shield™, each designed to address specific needs in agricultural practices. These products are tailored for use in various types of crops, including vineyards, citrus, nut trees, avocados, and other high-value crops.

Opti-Harvest’s approach to agriculture reflects a blend of science and practical application, aiming to revolutionize traditional farming practices and contribute to more sustainable and efficient agricultural production.

Opti-Harvest IPO?

Opti-Harvest hopes to list under the symbol “OPHV, but has yet to trade.

The company was expected to list in early 2023, but as reported by iGrow News, the size of the offering was downsized considerably.

“Agritech provider Opti-Harvest has significantly downsized its proposed initial public offering (IPO) to $8 million from its original target of $35 million. In a filing, the developer of crop-yield optimization technology stated that it is now offering 2 million shares priced between $3.50 and $4.50, which would raise $8 million if priced at the midpoint. Underwriters would have a 45-day option to purchase up to 300,000 additional shares at the IPO price,” reporter Sepehr Achard wrote in a January 16, 2023 piece. “Opti-Harvest, which is hoping to list its shares on Nasdaq under the symbol OPHV, has WestPark Capital as the lead bookrunner for the IPO. In August, the company had indicated in its S-1 filing fee schedule that it was seeking up to $35 million through an offering of units and underlying warrants.”
