Saint John healthcare marketing platform elandas expands mobile team, hires CMO

elandas CEO Ryan Roberts

elandas, a Saint John, New Brunswick-based Life Sciences sales and marketing data company, has appointed Hayley Bohan as its chief marketing officer, and has hired four new developers with support from the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP).

“It is thrilling to be part of a company that is using technology to enhance the way people work, and give them new ways to succeed in fiercely competitive environments,” says Bohan. “The compliance challenges and data overload issues facing sales and marketing teams in the pharmaceutical and medical device worlds right now are significant, and elandas is here to help with a highly customizable set of tools that can speed time to market by getting critical information in the hands of prescribers sooner, and also deliver more actionable market insights to the field sales teams.”

The elandas platform provides a highly configurable dashboard suite for marketing professionals working in pharmaceutical and medical device sales.

Marketing in healthcare is vastly different than marketing in general, for compliance reasons, for example, that can see copy held up for weeks or months while it’s vetted, which can also have an effect on patients.

“When I was working in the pharmaceutical industry in the United States some years back, I saw firsthand how inefficiencies in getting updated and compliant educational and sales materials into the hands of pharmaceutical and medical device sales teams were causing delays in getting prescriptions written for life-saving drugs and health monitoring devices for people who desperately needed them,” said elandas CEO Ryan Roberts in a recent interview with Electronic Products and Technology. “I knew this was a solvable problem, and I made a decision to utilize my business, technological and systems expertise to build a team that would be able to overcome it.”

A few of elandas’ key customers are Johnson & Johnson Health Care Systems, Lifescan, Janssen Pharmaceuticals and Forest Pharmaceutical.

CEO Ryan Roberts hints that elandas will be unveiling a new mobile offering in the first half of 2016.
