Toronto’s Scribble Technologies Announces Partnership With Demand Media

ScribbleLiveToronto-based Scribble Technologies Inc., which runs the popular content engagement platform ScribbleLive, has announced a multi-year strategic partnership with American content engagement specialists Demand Media (NYSE:DMD).

Terms of the deal have not been made public and are pending final SEC approval.

The partnership involves the joint marketing of both companies’ services in the name of optimizing conversion rates for brands that utilize their content marketing solutions. Both companies are involved in the content marketing field, using a combination of text, video and graphic design to increase engagement between brands and consumers.

Launched in 2008, initially as a media company, Scribble has evolved as content platform for news and sports media organizations who are looking for new and innovative ways to engage viewers in real time.

“Scribble has proven itself to be a leader in the Content Engagement market, and we are thrilled to collaborate with them,” said Julie Campistron, Executive Vice President of Studio & Content Solutions at Demand Media. “Like Scribble, a cornerstone of Demand Media is helping brands use content to engage their audiences. We look forward to extending our content expertise to Scribble’s clients and prospects.”

Demand Media brings a global history of insights into using audience feedback to determine both the form and the means of distribution for various types of content, employing a small army of more than 3,000 copy writers and editors, video specialists, graphic designers and social media experts. Demand Media’s Content Solutions platform allows brands to manage more than 16 media formats, making innovative use of a combination of text, video and graphics, each designed to meet different KPIs, including benchmarks for social media optimization and organic discovery.

“Our roster of clients is expanding at breakneck speed. As a result, demand for content services that complement our platform is experiencing significant growth,” said Vincent Mifsud, CEO at Scribble. “Partnering with Demand Media will help clients and prospects who may not have the onsite resources and manpower to implement an effective content engagement strategy.”

Scribble Technologies recently acquired California-based CoverItLive from Demand Media. CoverItLive’s engineering team had already been based in Toronto.

With more than 1,500 clients, including 500 enterprise customers and 200 international brands, Scribble has solidified a client base among America’s top three news networks and over 100 professional sports franchises.

Scribble Technologies is projected to reach $10 million revenue in 2014, after 70%-80% year over year organic growth. Scribble Technologies’ investors include Export Development Canada, Georgian Partners, Summerhill Venture Partners and Rogers Venture Partners.
