New gold-plated BlackBerry Q10 will set you back $2500

Are you a BlackBerry fan, but also a famed rapper?
Love your QWERTY keyboard, but have your own hit reality show and makeup endorsement deal?
Then you’ll be pleased to know that for just under (C) $2500 you can set yourself apart from the keyboard crowd with a new Q10 that is wrapped in a 24 carat gold bezel.
The new phone isn’t an official BlackBerry release, it’s from Goldgenie, a company famous for blinging up smartphones. The company already created a white gold iPhone 5, and a gold iPad mini. Goldgenie also creates gold guns, computer accessories and game consoles.
The gold BlackBerry Q10 comes unlocked and delivered in a luxury wood finish box.
Meanwhile, the regular old BlackBerry Q10 appears to be the hit BlackBerry needed to revive its sagging fortunes. The device has received decent reviews and is selling better than expected in the U.K. and in Canada. The company’s stock bounced earlier this month when CEO Thorsten Heins told Bloomberg that the Waterloo-based company expects to sell “several tens of million of units”. Heins, meanwhile, still prefers the black Q10.
