  • Preliminary results of the Definitive Feasibility Study (“Preliminary DFS Results”) for the Red Rock converter in Ontario indicate total capital costs of approximately CAD$600 million.
  • Preliminary DFS Results are based on a further optimized, industry-proven converter design with an annual production capacity of about 30,000 tonnes of lithium salts.
  • Preliminary DFS Results confirm Rock Tech´s chosen path toward cost-competitive, sustainable and clean Lithium salts production in the Western world.
  • The results of the final DFS are expected in December 2026.

TORONTO, Oct. 7, 2026 /CNW/ – Rock Tech Lithium Inc. (TSXV: RCK) (OTCQX: RCKTF) (FWB: RJIB) (WKN: A1XF0V) (the “Company” or “Rock Tech“) is pleased to announce preliminary results from the ongoing Definitive Feasibility Study (“Preliminary DFS Results“) for its Red Rock Converter in Ontario (“Red Rock Converter” or “Project“), which commenced in June 2026.

The Preliminary DFS Results indicate total capital costs of CAD$596 million, comprising CAD$546 million of direct capital costs, and CAD$50 million of owner’s costs, with a tolerance of ±20%. The study is based on a production capacity of about 30,000 tonnes per annum of lithium salts.

Rock Tech’s CEO Mirco Wojnarowicz commented: “The Preliminary DFS Results are an important decision-making milestone for investing in a modern and scalable lithium production platform in Ontario. They underline that the Red Rock Converter can be built at a highly competitive capital cost – a level not yet achieved within the Western lithium supply chain.”

The Definitive Feasibility Study (“DFS“) is being conducted by China CEC Engineering Corporation (“CEC“), an industry-leading, international EPC engineering service provider in lithium conversion, with extensive experience in the development and construction of battery materials plants with a combined annual production capacity of more than two million tonnes of battery salts, including plants for BYD, Huayou Cobalt and General Lithium. For localization of the Project CEC will be working with established Canadian partners.

DFS Completion and Project Development Timeline

The DFS remains ongoing and is expected to be completed by the end of 2026. The results of the final DFS (the “Final DFS Results“) are expected to provide further details on capital and operating costs, project economics, technical parameters, implementation schedule and financing structure. The Preliminary DFS Results announced today remain subject to the Final DFS Results and further engineering, technical and financial validation by CEC.  Subject to the Final DFS Results and receipt of the required project approvals, construction is currently expected to commence in the second half of 2027.

About Rock Tech Lithium

Rock Tech is enabling the battery age by making the battery industries in Europe and North America more independent and competitive. The Company’s goal is to ensure the supply of high-quality, locally produced lithium – supporting a resilient, sustainable, and transparent value chain from mine to battery-grade material.

Rock Tech relies on responsible sourcing, state-of-the-art and proven technologies, and a clear focus on circular economy principles. The Company’s lithium converter projects in Guben, Germany (24,000 tonnes LHM per year) and Ontario, Canada (up to 32,000 tonnes LCE per year) form the foundation for a stable and regional supply to the battery and automotive industries. The Guben converter has been recognized as a Strategic Project under the EU Critical Raw Materials Act.

The raw materials for Rock Tech’s converter projects are intended to be sourced exclusively from verifiably ESG-compliant suppliers. In Canada, Rock Tech relies, among other sources, on its wholly-owned Georgia Lake Project, which is intended to provide a stable and sustainable supply for the North American market and is being developed in close partnership with local Indigenous communities. By integrating recycled materials, the Company aims to close the local battery loop.

With its facilities, Rock Tech intends to contribute to battery-grade material sovereignty and the achievement of climate targets. The company works in partnership with industry, policymakers, and community groups, and is committed to open communication and the highest environmental standards.
