Launch of Ontario’s publicly funded fetal blood type screening, including: Fetal RHD screening for RhD-negative pregnant individuals and Alloimmunized Fetal Blood Group Genotyping to support management of pregnancies with select red blood cell antibodies.

WHY
The new screening tests support a precision medicine approach to prenatal care by ensuring that treatment and monitoring for Rh incompatibility and related conditions are directed only to pregnancies that require them.
