TORONTO, Oct. 1, 2026 /CNW/ — The Human Resources Professionals Association (HRPA) announced today that Bronwen Evans will join the organization as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective November 16, 2026.

Evans brings nearly 20 years of executive leadership experience across business, government, and the nonprofit sector. She currently serves as Vice President, Communications, Marketing and Sustainability at Hydro One Prior to that, she held senior executive roles at Medcan, a membership-based health care organization, and served as the founding Chief Executive Officer of True Patrio Love Foundation, building it into a national charity supporting military members, veterans, and their families. Earlier in her career, she advised senior Ontario government leaders, including as Chief of Staff to the Minister of Finance.
“The Board conducted a comprehensive search for our next Chief Executive Officer, with a clear focus on the leadership HRPA will need for its next chapter,” said Alison Staples, Board Chair, HRPA. “Bronwen brings extensive leadership experience across sectors, a strong track record of leading through growth and change, and a clear commitment to building strong organizations and partnerships. We are excited to welcome her to HRPA.”
“I am excited to join HRPA at a pivotal time for the HR profession, as the world of work changes and the need for strong people leadership grows,” said Evans. “I look forward to listening to our members and working with the HRPA team to create meaningful value for them throughout their careers.”
Evans is a graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program and holds the ICD.D designation.
HRPA also recognized the contribution of Lindsay Temple, who has served as Interim CEO. Temple, a former HRPA Board member, provided steady leadership through a period of transition for the organization, and will stay on for a short period to support a smooth handover.
“Lindsay stepped forward at an important time for HRPA and brought steady, thoughtful leadership throughout this period of transition,” said Staples. “On behalf of the Board, I want to thank her for her leadership, her commitment to our staff and members, and the important contribution she has made to HRPA”.
