Four charged in cannabis export investigation

MISSISSAUGA, ON, Sept. 25, 2026 /CNW/ — A joint investigation between the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP), the Peel Regional Police (PRP), and the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) led to the seizure of 95 kilograms of cannabis and the arrest of four individuals. The months long investigation uncovered evidence of offences related to the exportation of a controlled substance, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The RCMP Central Region’s Border Integrity unit has arrested four individuals at this time.

The accused are:

  • Anoshan Alfred (33) of Alliston, Ontario
  • Jeffrey Woolcock (40) of North York, Ontario
  • Jermaine Thompson (32) of Toronto, Ontario
  • Renaldo Clarke (42) of North York, Ontario

All four have been charged with the following offences:

  • Unlawful possession of cannabis for the purpose of export from Canada contrary to Section 11 (2) of the Cannabis Act;
  • Unlawful possession of illicit cannabis contrary to Section 8(1)(b) of the Cannabis Act;
  • Unlawful possession of cannabis for the purpose of distribution contrary to subsection 9(2) of the Cannabis Act;
  • Unlawful possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling it contrary to subsection 10(2) of the Cannabis Act;
  • Conspiracy to commit the indictable offence of possession of cannabis for the purpose of export from Canada contrary to Section 11 (2) of the Cannabis Act, thereby committing an offence contrary to S. 465(1)(c) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

The investigation is ongoing.
