CIBC recognized by The Digital Banker with two awards for enhancing client experience through AI innovation
TORONTO, Oct. 15, 2026 /CNW/ — CIBC has been recognized by The Digital Banker with two 2026 Global AI Innovation Awards, reflecting the bank’s continued leadership in applying AI in practical, responsible ways that enhance client experience.

“At CIBC, we are focused on using AI where it can make a meaningful difference for our clients and enhance support for our teams,” said Jaime Tatis, Executive Vice-President and Chief Data & Artificial Intelligence Officer, CIBC. “This recognition underscores our thoughtful approach to using AI and digital tools to rethink the way we work, so that we can help team members spend more time focused on our clients.”
CIBC was recognized for the following AI solutions:
- Outstanding Use of AI in Customer Experience – Canada for CIBC AdvisorAssist, an AI-enabled solution that uses generative AI to capture and summarize detailed notes during client meetings and streamline follow-up documentation. The tool helps advisors reduce administrative charting time by up to 50 per cent, allowing them to spend more time with clients.
- Most Innovative Application of AI by an Institution – Document Intelligence for DocuMind, an enterprise document intelligence platform powered by generative AI that helps streamline document processing, improve accuracy and accelerate workflows, while also supporting use cases such as faster lending decisions and fraud detection.
“This recognition reflects our focus on using AI in practical ways that help our advisors spend more time with clients,” said Rory Mitz, Executive Vice-President, Personal Banking and Imperial Service, CIBC. “By making it easier to capture meeting notes and complete follow-up documentation, CIBC AdvisorAssist helps our teams stay focused on delivering the advice, service and relationships that matter most to clients.”
The Digital Banker’s Global AI Innovation Awards recognize organizations demonstrating genuine AI innovation, measurable outcomes, depth of implementation and the ability to operate responsibly at scale.
These awards reflect CIBC’s broader strategy of applying AI in practical, responsible ways that support team members and enhance client experience.
