In Toronto last night, at a gala celebration at the Ripley’s Aquarium of Canada, Cantech Letter Editor Nick Waddell presented the 7th Annual Cantech Letter Awards to a crowd of several hundred tech enthusiasts.

The nominees included a mix of new and familiar names, including TIO Networks and its CEO Hamed Shahbazi. Though TIO was thwarted in its bid for a third consecutive TSXV Canadian Tech Stock of the Year Award, Shahbazi himself completed the hat-trick as TSXV Tech Executive of the Year.

The Cantech Letter Awards recognize excellence in Canada’s innovation sectors. They are selected by an anonymous panel of more than 40 sell-side analysts from dozens of Canadian investment banks.
