FusionPipe’s QuikID is a password-less authentication system, engineered to improve end-user authentication, locking and unlocking ruggedized PCs, laptops, tablets and VPN networks, while optimizing end-user convenience without compromising data security.
Ruggedized laptops or tablets are frequently used by mobile field workers, first responders and law enforcement officers.
Under the agreement, Panasonic will have distribution rights to market, sell and support FusionPipe’s QuikID product suite to its Enterprise customers and to prospects, through the company’s sales force and within its existing line of distribution channels across the European Economic Area, Switzerland and Turkey, as part of Panasonic’s ProServices range of offerings.
“We are honored and excited to have Panasonic become one of our major Value Added Resellers for our groundbreaking authentication technology,” said FusionPipe CEO & Chairman David Snell. “As the titan in the ruggedized device marketplace, their vision, market strategy and growing user base for their popular devices is key to the success of our mutually advantageous business partnership.”
QuikID eliminates the need for usernames and passwords, tokens, smartcards, OTP (one time passwords) and USB keys, increasing work force productivity so that people don’t have to waste time on authentication, while also maintaining data and network security.
Instead of employees in the field or in the office having to rely on dongles, hardware tokens, physical smart cards, OTPs or remembering complex passwords, QuikID lets employees use a smartphone or wearable device to securely lock and unlock their workstation, computer or virtual desktop using proximity-based secure authentication.
Current methods of workplace security access are also insecure, in that dongles and smart cards can be lost or stolen, whereas passwords can simply be hacked.
“I have been working with the FusionPipe team since I first met them at Mobile World Congress 2015 to evaluate QuikID’s technical merits, security provisions and the potential of their authentication technology,” said John Harris, Head of Engineering at Panasonic Computer Products Solutions. “I have not only been impressed with the FusionPipe team and their technology, but also the opportunity that this innovative solution brings to our existing customer base, prospects and distribution channel.”
