BuildDirect Home Marketplace platform grows 350% in three months

Since launching their Home Marketplace in February, Vancouver home improvement product marketplace BuildDirect claims that the new online platform has grown 350% in its first three months, nearly quadrupling its product count.
Home Marketplace, aimed at home owners who are engaged in remodeling or repairing their homes, puts suppliers directly in touch with consumers, eliminating the middle man and increasing efficiency when it comes to finding the correct goods for the job.
In addition to the platform’s growth, BuildDirect has announced the addition of several new major home supply brands to Home Marketplace, including Mohawk, Armstrong Flooring and Shaw.
“We are delighted to provide our customers access to brands that millions of homeowners know, love and trust,” said BuildDirect co-founder, President and CEO, Jeff Booth. “We are committed to offering an unbeatable selection of products at the best value. The addition of these top suppliers is simply another step forward on our path to deliver on that promise for homeowners.”
Among the suppliers that have joined BuildDirect’s Home Marketplace since its launch in February are MS International (MSI), Swiss Krono (formerly Kronotex USA), Panama Jack, TK Classics, Kährs and Zuo Modern.
Mohawk Home and Mohawk Industries is the world’s largest flooring company, which has differentiated itself through innovation and a technological approach to its hardwood and engineered hardwood flooring products.
BuildDirect offers nearly 450 SKUs of Armstrong Flooring products, the #1 manufacturer of resilient and wood flooring products in North America.
Flooring company Shaw Industries, which has more than $4 billion in annual sales, offers wood, laminate, Luxury Vinyl Tile, and ceramic-tile flooring in the BuildDirect Home Marketplace.
Aside from access to new customers, the addition of new home supply brands to the Home Marketplace platform also delivers value by offering access to data not generally available through normal retail channels.
Home supply brands can leverage BuildDirect’s analytics system, while suppliers get real-time product information that helps predict future demand through the use of three proprietary tools, BuildDirect Demand Rank, BuildDirect Product Rank, and BuildDirect Inventory Rank, which allow suppliers to identify optimum competitiveness for a product in a given marketplace based on customer interest and ideal location.
By plugging into BuildDirect’s shipping and logistics network, suppliers can move products into warehouses to meet demand more efficiently and cost-effectively.
