The much anticipated BlackBerry 10 launch happened at various places around the world today, but all eyes were on New York.
The day was not without some surprises; RIM announced it was changing its name to BlackBerry, Alicia Keys was named Official Creative Director (a move that was met with some puzzled expressions), and RIM’s stock was absolutely hammered, after it was revealed that the Q-10 Phone -the one with the physical QWERTY keyboard- would be delayed.
The new BlackBerrys were met with generally positive reviews and one absolute rave from influential New York Times tech writer David Pogue, who said the devices were “lovely, fast and efficient, bristling with fresh, useful ideas.”
