RIM Struggles, but BlackBerry still a hit with Celebrities

Canadian mega-star Justin Bieber with his BlackBerry Curve. Despite RIM's "late to the party" image on Wall Street, some of the world's biggest, and youngest, celebrities use RIM devices.
Look at a stock chart of the past half-decade and it’s clear that Research in Motion has slipped in terms of market capitalization and market share. But has the brand completely lost its cool factor?

iPhones are everywhere, and Apple may have already won the category, but things might not be as doom and gloom as they seem for RIM’s street appeal, even in North America where much of its recent “late to the party” rep has been earned. With new Chief Marketing Offer Frank Boulben just days on the job, a fresh slate of ads, and its new BlackBerry 10 platform around the corner, RIM has managed, unlike say a George Clooney girlfriend, to stay present in the arms of the Star Weekly and Entertainment Tonight crowd.

Here’s some recent celebrity BlackBerry sightings:

Good Canadian kid Justin Bieber is the currently the world's most bankable pop star. He's also a BlackBerry Curve user.
Katy Perry has been nominated for eight Grammy Awards and is the only artist to spend more than 52 consecutive weeks in the top ten of the Billboard Hot 100. She's also a BlackBerry Bold user.
Beyonce shows off her limited edition BlackBerry Porsche, a gift from Kanye West.
Harry Potter star Emma Watson with her BlackBerry Torch.
One of the world's highest paid movie stars, Leonardo DiCaprio, with his BlackBerry Bold 9700.
Twilight star Kristen Stewart with her BlackBerry Tour 9630.
Oprah Winfrey takes a picture of her studio audience with a BlackBerry.
Justin Timberlake takes a picture of his car with his BlackBerry.
Kim Kardashian takes of picture at a New York Knicks game with her BlackBerry.
After becoming President, the world's most powerful man pleaded with the US Secret Service to keep his BlackBerry.
