Wavefront Technology (TSXV:WEE) announced its Q1,2012 results. Revenues came in at $1,111,555, which an increase of $241,883 over the same period a year prior. In a press release today Wavefront management said “The corporation believes that based on Wavefront’s suite of technologies, patents, know-how, the Powerwave brand name, and the recently acquired Vortech patents and brand name, it is well positioned to take advantage of vast market opportunities related to well stimulation and enhanced oil recovery.” Shares of Wavefront closed today up 6.5% to $.85 cent. International Datacasting (TSX:IDC) announced it has arranged a second round of vendor financing and has won follow-on orders worth nearly (US) $5-million with the Wananchi Group for the expansion of its direct-to-home broadcast service in east Africa. Frederick Godard, IDC’s President and CEO said: “The expansion of this credit facility and second round of financing demonstrates our confidence in the Wananchi business model and in the growth of the African market as a key business opportunity.” Shares of International Datacasting closed today down 7.5% to $.245 cents. Naturally Advanced Technologies (TSXV:NAT) announced it has hired Ralph Fisher as a regional agronomic adviser to the company. Fisher, who has bachelor’s degree in crop science, will focus on the 2012 and 2013 growing seasons. Jay Nalbach, Naturally Advanced’s Chief Marketing Officer said: “The demand for CRAiLAR flax fibre has been established through our partnerships with Hanes, Levi’s, Carhartt, Target and other global brands…” Shares of Naturally Advanced closed today down .9% to $2.10. QSolar (CSNX:QSL) announced that Carel Hoyer has joined its board of directors. Hoyer was a corporate vice-president with Weatherford International, the fourth-largest oil field services firm in the world. Andreas Tapakoudes, QSolar’s President and CEO said: “We are pleased to have a gentleman such as Carel join our board of directors. In addition to being a highly skilled professional and businessman with extensive global operational, strategic, mergers and acquisitions, and R&D experience…”. Ram Power (TSX:RPG) provided an update for its San Jacinto phase I expansion project in Nicaragua. A performance test, said the company, showed the the plant maintained a 99.997% availability, operating at the required 36-megawatt-hour net output from the phase I Fuji turbine and exceeding the requirements of the performance test. Ram Power CEO Shuman Moore said: “Our Nicaraguan project is progressing well. Completing the 30-day test of our 36-megawatt San Jacinto phase I unit with such a high availability, and so quickly after the plant’s initial synchronization, demonstrates the high skill levels of our operations staff and the superior quality of the equipment.” Shares of Ram Power closed today up 3% to $.345 cents. Theratechnologies (TSX:TH) announced it has entered into a supply, distribution and licensing agreement with Actelion Pharmaceuticals Canada for exclusive commercialization rights to tesamorelin in Canada. Theratechnologies President and CEO John-Michel Huss said: “Actelion represents the ideal partner for Theratechnologies in Canada. With a sales force already in place and trained in the commercialization of specialty treatments, Actelion will be in a position to effectively market tesamorelin, once approved. We look forward to tapping into their sales and marketing expertise in the commercialization of therapies in specialty markets as well as their extensive knowledge of the Canadian reimbursement system…” Shares of Theratechnologies closed today up .4% to $2.31. Research in Motion (TSX:RIM) released BlackBerry PlayBook OS 2.0. The update includes an integrated e-mail client, social integration with calendar and contacts apps, an updated BlackBerry Bridge app, and new apps that have been added to BlackBerry App World.
