Ron Shuttleworth of M Partners: My Picks for the 2011 Cantech Letter Awards

Descartes CEO Art Mesher at the M Partners Annual Technology & Communications Investor Conference, September 20th at Toronto's Royal York Hotel.

Our fifth and final judge for the 2011 Cantech Letter Awards, Ron Shuttleworth of M Partners, weighs in today. Shuttleworth thinks highly of the work that Art Mesher has done at Descartes Systems Group (TSX:DSG).

After nearly becoming a dot-bomb casualty, charismatic former Gartner analyst Mesher rescued Descartes, which he estimated was days away from folding. The company has since become an emerging leader in global logistics technology; solutions that help its customers make and receive shipments.

With all the judge’s short lists now in, we’ll go back to them to find the consensus choices that will become the final nominees for the 2011 Cantech Letter Awards. We’ll post that list next week and allow you to weigh in on it. But before we do, let’s look at the rest of Mr. Shutttleworth’s picks.

This story is brought to you by Cantech Letter sponsor Serenic (TSXV:SER). Serenic Corporation develops, markets and supports mission-critical fund accounting software solutions for not-for-profit organizations and government agencies. Click here for more information.
