Speaking at the 2025 Cantech Investment Conference in Toronto, BeWhere Holdings (BeWhere Holdings Stock Quote, Chart, News, Analysts, Financials TSXV:BEW) CEO Owen Moore said the company’s mission to make real-time asset tracking affordable is “opening up entirely new markets.”
Moore told Ticker Take host Jon Erlichman that BeWhere’s low-cost mobile Internet of Things technology has made it practical to monitor everything from trailers to bicycles — “even porta-potties” — as demand for smart, connected devices continues to grow.
BeWhere develops mobile Internet of Things hardware and software used to track real-time data from assets such as trailers, containers, and equipment, while monitoring environmental factors including temperature and humidity.

Moore said the company’s goal from the start was to “disrupt the market from a price-point perspective” by offering tracking devices that are cheaper, faster, and more flexible than traditional systems.
“We design and manufacture devices to track stuff,” he said. “We track everything from trailers to containers to porta-potties and bikes and everything in between.”
By driving down costs, he said, BeWhere is expanding the range of items that can be economically monitored, “oddly enough, there’s a lot of money in tracking porta-potties.”
Moore said BeWhere has evolved from a research and development outfit into a business focused on profitability.
“In the early stages, it was focused on R&D and making sure we created a product that had a market,” he said. “As you evolve, your focus shifts to driving sales and growth. In our case, we wanted to grow, but we wanted to grow profitably.”
He said BeWhere is “in the midst of a product refresh right across our board,” aimed at reducing engineering costs and improving margins. The company plans to expand primarily through distribution partnerships rather than direct sales.
“The key for us is to get a product in our distributors’ hands at a price that allows them to put a markup on both the hardware and the monthly platform fees and still come in under the competition,” he said.
