Siyata Launches Uniden UV350 at AT&T and FirstNet for Public Safety

Montreal-based cellular communications tech company Siyata Mobile (Siyata Mobile Stock Quote,Chart TSXV:SIM) this morning announced that its Uniden UV350 device has been approved for use on AT&T’s FirstNet communications system in the United States, the first in-vehicle mounted phablet to be approved for the emergency response network.

“FirstNet devices and modules go through extensive review, so First Responders can be confident that Siyata’s UV350 meets the highest standards for reliability, security and performance,” said Bob Sloan, Chief Operating Officer, FirstNet program at AT&T, in a Siyata press release.

“We are happy to be the first US cellular carrier to launch Uniden’s NextGen Vehicle Communicator – an innovative in-vehicle mounted phablet. We believe it will be an excellent answer for both existing and newly migrating FirstNet subscribers seeking an in-vehicle communication device,” Sloan says.

AT&T is in the midst of building out FirstNet, a project more than six years in the making and signed onto by the US government in December 2017. Crossing over 7,000 agencies including police departments, fire departments, the US Coast Guard and FEMA, FirstNet earlier this month passed the 600,000 connections mark, making Siyata’s launch of the Uniden UV350 with AT&T a significant milestone for the company.

“Drivers who are operating vehicles, whether it is a first responder vehicle or a commercial truck, need to feel safe while communicating important information,” said Marc Seelenfreund, Siyata Mobile’s CEO. “The demand for a multi-functioning in-vehicle device remains strong, so Siyata is pleased to launch the Uniden UV350. The UV350 allows first responders who are driving to keep their eyes on the road and hands on the wheel to concentrate on the situation at hand. Safe driving.”
