Motorola’s WAVE PTT and AT&T Enhanced PTT Unveiled on Siyata’s Uniden® UV350 In-Vehicle Device at IWCE in Vegas

The International Wireless Communications Expo took place last week in Las Vegas March 4th to 8th, a major event for the wireless and communications industries, with companies showcasing the latest available technology.

Siyata Mobile (Siyata Mobile Stock Quote, Chart TSXV:SIM) on Thursday announced it had integrated its flagship device, the Uniden UV350, with AT&T’s Enhanced Push-To-Talk (PTT) Platform and Motorola Solutions’ WAVE PTT and were completing demonstrations to industry attendees.

The UV350 is a mounted in-vehicle smartphone with an external antenna, microphone and speaker that is 4G/LTE compatible and runs on an Android operating system, giving users access to a suite of applications and mobile features, including PTT software, such as that of AT&T and Motorola.

A recent article in Forbes highlighted that “Most of the innovation today is driven and enabled by the wireless broadband networks and long-term evolution (LTE) cellular networks that are being hardened with priority and pre-emption for first responders. As America’s public safety community adopts (and comes to rely on) more broadband for voice, video and data exchange, companies will innovate to provide the needed technology.”

According to Siyata, the Uniden® UV350 is the first and only dedicated in-vehicle cellular device with PoC, Voice, Video and data exchange capabilities targeting both First Responders and commercial fleets and vehicles.

Motorola Solutions, a major global provider of land mobile radio (LMR) hardware, last week acknowledged the importance of broadband PTT solutions in public safety communications.

“Push-to-talk (PTT) is essential to communicate across extended teams who use a variety of devices on either land-mobile radio (LMR) or LTE networks,” said Motorola in a press release.

Motorola’s WAVE PTT includes a Critical Connect for first responders in need of mission-essential communications, along with a WAVE Commercial for enterprise users.

AT&T Enhanced PTT provides versatile instant communication, interoperability with land mobile radio (LMR), along with integrated dispatch and standard and advanced calling features.

Siyata also announced the UV350 is progressing towards becoming FirstNet Ready™. Through a public-private partnership between AT&T and the First Responders Network Authority (FirsNet) AT&T will build, deploy, operate, and provide services on a nationwide public safety broadband network exclusively for first responders.

Once FirstNet Ready™ the UV350 will be compatible on Band 14, the FirstNet spectrum and available to all FirstNet users, which included more than 5,250 public safety agencies as of January 2019. As FirstNet users no longer have to compete for bandwidth on a commercial network, they can reliably connect in new and valuable ways through texts, images, data and video. As a result, they will immediately improve situational awareness and real-time location data and geo-based communications.

FirstNet is expected to be more than 60% completed by the end of 2019, according to AT&T’s Chief Financial Officer John Stephen’s. AT&T has also committed to providing standards-based Push-To-Talk solutions as part of its FirstNet services.

Siyata Mobile shares have reacted. The stock has traded nearly ten million shares since the IWCE announcement, closing Tuesday at $0.51.
