Toronto-based Siyata aims to replace the standard two-way radio in enterprise fleets with their Uniden cellular-enabled “push to talk” (PTT) system, allowing users a wider range of capabilities and giving enterprise customers the ability to connect with one or many fleet vehicle drivers at once.
Marc Seelenfreund, CEO and Chairman of Siyata Mobile, says his product can help to cut down on distracted driving, now the number one risk on Canadian roads contributing to eight out of every ten collisions.
“Siyata’s goal of providing customers with a safe, PTT-enabled device is an important achievement not only for us but for Canada’s professional drivers as a whole,” says Seelenfreund in a press release. “The current status quo of multiple single-purpose hardware in a vehicle poses both a physical and mental distraction to drivers and we are committed to providing a solution that puts safety first. The UV350 gives customers a reliable and quick connection to a single or group of drivers instantly with the push of a button, making it a less distracting more connected experience.”
Siyata says that the UV350 is a natural fit for Bell Mobility, which has Canada’s largest community of PTT users and the largest line-up of PTT-enabled hardware and accessories.
Since reaching a high of $0.76 back in July of 2017, SIM’s share price has trended downwards and is currently trading at $0.40.
The company says its UV350 targets industries such as first responders, mining, oil and gas, forestry, transportation, heavy equipment and school buses.
