CentriLogic adds data centre capacity through Advanced Knowledge Networks acquisition

Toronto provider of managed hosting, cloud computing, co-location and advanced IT outsourcing services CentriLogic has acquired fellow Torontonian provider of managed IT infrastructure services Advanced Knowledge Networks (AKN).

“Building on the September opening of its 28,000 square foot enterprise-grade facility in Ontario, we believe this acquisition is another key step in CentriLogic’s ability to become a leading independent provider of end-to-end IT outsourcing solutions in Canada,” says IDC Canada Research Vice-President, Services and Enterprise Applications, Mark Schrutt. “Combined service capabilities will accelerate CentriLogic up the managed services stack, and the synergies derived from the acquisition will enable CentriLogic to extend well into the Canadian mid and large-sized enterprise market.”

CentriLogic owns and operates 10 interconnected data centres, in central Toronto, in Mississauga, in New York state, North Carolina, the US Virgin Islands, Bracknell, United Kingdom, and Hong Kong.

CentriLogic claims to have achieved 1,005% five-year revenue growth.

The acquisition of AKN will help them expand their reach, providing secure end-to-end secure infrastructure services, including managed, cloud, co-location hosting, and private network connectivity.

“CentriLogic has been our primary data center facilities partner for several years and we have been successfully deploying customer implementations together since 2012, so we anticipate immediate synergies and a seamless transition for customers and staff” says AKN President Monica Rok. “Our companies share a similar culture and commitment to client care, and we look forward to bringing CentriLogic’s services and solutions to our growing customer base.”

Founded in 2000, AKN provides managed IT solutions for, among others, Bayshore HealthCare, Harry Rosen, Leon’s Furniture, and Longo Brothers Fruit Markets.

With locations in Toronto, Vancouver, Calgary and Halifax, AKN has seen consistent year-over-year profit and revenue growth.

“We believe that our two companies combined will serve Canadian and International organizations through delivering a wide variety of adaptable offerings for IT infrastructure management, while enabling CentriLogic to immediately extend our Canadian presence from Ontario to nationwide,” says CentriLogic President & CEO Robert Offley.

AKN’s employees will be integrated into CentriLogic effective immediately.
