Waterloo’s APrivacy hires new head of corporate development for Hong Kong office

Waterloo-based APrivacy has appointed Henri Arslanian, fomerly with the UBS Investment Bank Hedge Fund Consulting team, as Head of Corporate Development and Strategic Partnerships to work out of their Hong Kong office.

Mr. Arslanian, who is fluent in English, French, Armenian, Spanish and conversational Mandarin Chinese, will help APrivacy expand its FinTech offerings to the Asian market.

“I truly believe that our banking industry partners and, most importantly, their clients would benefit from the security, privacy, convenience and control that the patented APrivacy technology offers,” said Arslanian. “I am excited to work with the entire APrivacy team and to lead the efforts in bringing this empowering technology to the market.”

APrivacy’s platform allows banks to drive new revenues, reduce risk, and support compliance efforts to the financial services industry while also emphasizing security and ease of use.

In August, APrivacy (formerly I Think Security) announced the opening of a Hong Kong office, a decision provoked by CEO Cédric Jeannot’s participation in Accenture’s FinTech Innovation Lab in September 2014.

After the FinTech Innovation Lab, Jeannot returned to Hong Kong several times, with assistance from the Canadian Digital Media Network’s Soft Landing program, after sensing the size of market potential in Asia.

“We are thrilled to welcome Henri to the APrivacy team. He brings with him extensive experience in FinTech, financial services and management,” said Jeannot, “and we are confident that his expertise will provide significant value to our clients and our Company.”
