Chris Hadfield takes to Reddit to quash South Park rumour

It may have been a rumour, or just the musings of one Reddit user, but the idea that former International Space Station Commander Chris Hadfield will appear on South Park was quickly debunked -by Hadfield himself.

The current top post on the wildly popular social bookmarking site says “Commander Hadfield to appear in South Park”.

But click on comments section and the top entry is actually from Chris Hadfield, who has an account because he has done AMAs (Ask Me Anythings) with Reddit.

“Not that I’m aware of, I’m not.

That’s the avatar for #personalrocketscientist, the online Q&A I’m doing with UK and Irish students during my current book tour.

Sorry to disappoint,” posted the astronaut turned best-selling author.

The confusion, it seems, stems from Hadfield’s new South Park-like Twitter avatar.

Of course, this debunking will now likely lead to an appearance from the Rocket Man on South Park.

It’s what the kids these days call “meta”.

The former astronaut, meanwhile, has his agenda full with other artistic mediums. In July, Hadfield landed a two book deal with Random House Canada and Little, Brown and Company.
