Canadian Investor Conference draws tech to Vancouver this Sunday, Monday

A conference best know for attracting resource companies will add something new this year: tech.

The Canadian Investor Conference, formerly known as The World Resource Investment Conference, takes place in Vancouver on June 1st and 2nd at the Vancouver Convention Centre

Innovation sector juniors such as Urthecast, Tinkerine Studios, FLYHT Aerospace and Verisante will join a roster of mining and metals companies and a smattering of diversifieds.

Conference organizer Jay Martin of Cambridge House says the mix reflects the fact that investors are demanding a broader choice of product.

“Vancouver needed an event that showcased all the top investment opportunities across all sectors,” he says. “Given investors voracious appetite for Canada’s lucrative technology market over the last couple years, there will be a large and eclectic mix of technology for interested investors. This will be a much more interactive conference then those of Cambridge House past, from electric go karts to 3D printers. There will be also be over 20 cleantech companies taking part in the Deloitte Power Pitch sessions on each day. These will be five minute rapid-fire pitches to prospective investors.”

Speakers at the conference include some names well known to Cantech Letter readers, including PI analyst Pardeep Sangha, Garibaldi Advisor’s Brent Holliday, and Vision Critical CEO Andrew Reid.

Martin says he anticipates the show will draw an an investor audience of more than 3000. More information on the conference and registration info is here.
