Just about every year, teammates Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry have noted, there is another “will Teemu play one more year” debate, followed by his inevitable return.
“I have four sticks in my garage that all have a farewell message on them,” joked Getzlaf last year. “I’m not asking this year, I don’t need another one.”
This year? More of the same. Teemu Selanne today took to Youtube to show what a terrible golfer he is. In the video, he throws his golf clubs into a lake in a fit of rage, wades after them and pulls out his phone to call Ducks manager Bob Murray.
“Hi Bob, it’s Teemu,” says the Finnish star in a resigned voice. “I’m coming back.”
Teemu Selanne’s Youtube “unretirement” videos are now becoming an annual tradition. Check out last’s year’s, which featured “The Finnish Flash” contemplating a desk job.
Selanne, naturally, insists the upcoming season, his 21st, will be his last.
