Ackroo partners with The Ottawa Hospital on loyalty program

Ackroo this morning announced it has partnered with the Ottawa Hospital on loyalty and rewards program for hospital employees and volunteers.

Ackroo (Ackroo Stock Quote, Chart, News: TSXV:AKR) this morning announced it has partnered with The Ottawa Hospital on loyalty and rewards program for hospital employees and volunteers.

Hospital employees will be issued a care card that gives them loyalty dollars at local businesses, and directs a percentage of the sale back to their employers.

Paul Richards, director of finance for The Ottawa Hospital, said the program said Ackroo’s program matches its own ideas of localized contributions.

“A portion of the Ottawa Hospital’s world-class care and services are a direct result of contributions from individuals and businesses in the Ottawa area,” he said. “We chose to partner with Ackroo because of their unique beneficiary program that provides a turnkey loyalty program for employees while creating new revenue for the Ottawa Hospital.”

Ackroo CEO Eamonn Garry said the company will look to replicate the model.

“The launch of the Ottawa Hospital employee care program is a milestone for the Ackroo beneficiary loyalty program, which allows groups of consumers to connect with local businesses while supporting a common cause,” he said.

“The benefits of this type of loyalty program are far-reaching into the community; it rewards the dedicated employees of the Ottawa Hospital and supports and promotes local businesses, giving them the opportunity to reach new audiences and drive new customers into their stores. In turn, these businesses contribute a portion of that new revenue back to the Ottawa Hospital. Ackroo looks forward to working with the Ottawa Hospital on this initiative and to rolling out similar beneficiary loyalty programs across Canada.”

At press time, shares of AKR were up 37.5% to $.11.
