Miranda, Softchoice and Constellation Software: Today in Canadian Tech

Miranda Technologies (TSX:MT) released its fiscal 2011 results. Revenue was a record $181.8 million, besting last year’s $143.6 million.

Miranda CEO Strath Goodship said: “Revenues and profitability were at record levels for 2011, reflecting our success at offering innovative solutions that deliver real value to broadcasters and television service providers. The growth strategies we have undertaken in recent years delivered the strong operational and financial performance we have seen over the last eight quarters. We plan to build on this positive momentum and deliver sustained long-term shareholder and customer value.” Shares of Miranda closed today down 6.4% to $10.30. More…

Constellation Software (TSX:CSU) reported its fiscal 2011 results. Revenue was up 22% to $773-million, from $634-million in 2010. Constellation President Mark Leonard said: “We are very pleased with our results in 2011. We generated record returns on capital, 10-per-cent organic growth and had strong cash flow from operations,” Shares of Constellation closed today up .7% to $99. More…

Softchoice (TSX:SO) reported its fiscal 2011 results. The company’s topline of $999.4 million compared favourably to 2010’s $884 million. Softchoice CEO David MacDonald said: “Over all we have made great progress executing our strategy, and are entering 2012 with a strong balance sheet, significantly greater coverage of the small and mid-size business segment and the most complete portfolio of solutions and services in North America…” Shares of Softchoice closed today up .9% to $12.01. Westport Innovations (TSX:WPT) reported its Q3 2011 and provided a twelve month comparison of revenue for the fiscal year ended December 31st, 2011. The company reported revenues of $226.5 million for the nine months ended Dec. 31, 2011, compared to $148.1 million for the 12 months ended March 31, 2010. Westport CEO David Demers said: “We exceeded our revenue expectation and generated over $264-million for the 12 months ended Dec. 31, an increase of 83 per cent compared to $144-million in calendar year 2010…” Shares of Westport closed today down 6.1% to $40.16.
