Cantech Letter Picks Profile Company #18

With the sale of Edmonton based  Matrikon (TSX:MTK)  to Honeywell for $4.50 per share, the profiled picks of The Dollarton Cantech Letter now have a second gainer of more than 100% on the books (the first happened when we closed coverage on Aastra (TSX:AAH) with a 242% gain). That’s the good news. The bad news is some perennial drags on the index, such as Intrinsyc (TSX:ICS), Miranda (TSX:MT) and Hemisphere GPS (TSX:HEM) continued to drag a little harder. Nonetheless, this collection of Canadian tech stocks is beating the overall market handily. Cantech picks are up 19.8%, while the TSX as a whole is down 4.8% over the same time frame (September 26th, 2008-July 16th, 2010). To this collection we add one more.

With a market cap approximately half of its trailing four quarter revenues, cash in the bank and no debt, we believe Toronto’s Cyberplex (TSX:CX) represents compelling value.

We give you an updated look at the performance of The Dollarton Cantech Letter, then we break down the numbers of pick #18,  Cyberplex,  in an updated Quant Snapshot.
