TORONTO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#IT–UniPrint.net announced today their successful secure cloud print
deployment with Brentwood Borough Council in Essex, UK.
In 2016, the Council released a report entitled “Vision for Brentwood,
2016-2019”. In it, they outlined their goals to better the lives of
their constituents, and those goals included reducing costs and
streamlining services. After examining their existing infrastructure,
they made the decision to become the 1st UK council to move
100% of its systems and infrastructure to the cloud.
“We wanted to create a very easy delivery of people’s desktops no matter
where they were, whether it was a coffee shop, their home, or one of our
sites,” said Tim Huggins, ICT Manager at Brentwood Borough Council.
This presented a multitude of challenges, but one of the biggest was
“We approached our common provider,” said Huggins. “But it became quite
evident very quickly that they had no solution, and we were way ahead of
the game with our concepts and what we were trying to do.”
With a forward-thinking strategy, the Council only needed a solutions
provider to deliver on what they needed. Once they found UniPrint, it
became clear it was the right solution for them.
The UniPrint Infinity solution places all printers, drivers, devices,
and users into one centralized management console and gives
administrators powerful tools to manage their printing infrastructure
quickly and easily. What’s more, in the age of frequent data breaches
and ransomware attacks, UniPrint provides added document security and
encryption to protect print data from getting into the wrong hands.
Council Business Application Analyst Cole Brace summarized simply how
UniPrint Infinity has changed how they work:
“Working with UniPrint means we can have more people go out on site, or
they can work from home. We needed something compatible with our new way
of working, which was to be agile and flexible. UniPrint was the only
provider we found that had a real solution and people who understood
what we were about.”
Steven Jones, Regional Director for UniPrint.net EMEA/APJ, summarized
how the Council’s use-case represents the exact workflow challenges
UniPrint aims to help customers overcome with its solution:
“The Brentwood vision exemplifies the challenge of implementing printing
in the Cloud. At UniPrint we pride ourselves as being a true pioneer and
leader in achieving Cloud strategies for our customers.”
