Blue Label: where to find it in Canada

Blue Label Price Canada

Johnnie Walker Blue Label is a premium blended Scotch whisky produced by Johnnie Walker, one of the most well-known and respected whisky brands in the world. Blue Label is the most exclusive and luxurious offering in the Johnnie Walker range, and is known for its exceptional smoothness, complexity, and depth of flavor.

Blue Label is a blend of rare and exceptionally well-aged whiskies sourced from across Scotland, including some from distilleries that are no longer in operation. The blend is made up of around 20 different whiskies, each of which has been aged for at least 25 years.

The whiskies used in Blue Label are selected by a small team of expert blenders, who carefully taste and evaluate each individual whisky before blending them together to create the final product. The result is a rich, complex whisky with notes of honey, vanilla, caramel, dried fruit, and a hint of smoke.

Blue Label is packaged in a distinctive blue bottle with a gold label, and is presented in an elegant box. It is typically served neat or on the rocks, and is often enjoyed on special occasions or as a luxurious gift. Due to its high price point, Blue Label is considered a luxury item and is not as widely available as other Johnnie Walker blends.

The history of Johnnie Walker

Johnnie Walker is a popular brand of blended Scotch whisky that has been around for over 200 years. The company was founded by John Walker, a grocer from Kilmarnock, Scotland, in 1820. He started with a small grocery store where he sold his own blends of whisky. Initially, the whiskies were sold as separate blends, such as “Old Highland Whisky” and “Extra Special Old Highland Whisky.”

In the 1860s, John Walker’s son, Alexander, took over the business and began to focus on blending whiskies from different regions to create a consistent and high-quality product. He introduced the iconic square bottle and the famous “striding man” logo, which is still used today. Under Alexander’s leadership, Johnnie Walker became known as a premium brand of blended whisky, favored by wealthy consumers around the world.

In the early 1900s, the company expanded its range of blends to include the now-famous Johnnie Walker Red Label and Johnnie Walker Black Label. The Red Label was created for everyday drinking, while the Black Label was intended for special occasions and celebrations.

During World War II, Johnnie Walker was one of the few whisky brands to maintain its production levels, supplying soldiers with morale-boosting drams. In the post-war period, Johnnie Walker continued to expand its range of blends, introducing Johnnie Walker Blue Label, a premium blend made from rare and aged whiskies, in 1992.

Today, Johnnie Walker is owned by the global drinks company Diageo and remains one of the world’s best-selling whisky brands. It is available in over 180 countries, and its blends are enjoyed by whisky lovers around the world.
