Scalar Decisions Inc., an IT solutions integrator based in Toronto, with offices in Montreal, Ottawa, London, Winnipeg, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver, has reached an agreement to acquire Eosensa Inc. a technology risk management consulting firm based in Thornhill.
This is Scalar’s third such transaction in the past 18 months. In July, for example, they acquired Mainland Information Systems.
“With the expertise in technology risk management, Scalar will now offer its clients end-to-end technology solutions, from risk and gap assessments to technology recommendations, implementation, integration and ongoing managed services,” said Scalar president and CEO Paul Kerr. “Beyond business synchronicity, the companies share a focus on client service, organizational and cultural values, which are critical for a seamless integration.”
Scalar claims that there has been a tremendous increase in demand from its existing clients for risk advisory services.
Eosensa’s team of 22 people will be integrated in Scalar’s workforce of 312 people, and will form a new Risk Advisory Practice within Scalar, with Eosensa co-founders and managing directors Julius Azarcon and Benjamin A. Boi-Doku becoming the practice leaders at Scalar for Technology Risk, Governance, and Information Assurance and for Cyber Risk and Security, respectively.
“We look forward to bringing Scalar’s technology solutions and coast to coast network to our client base,” said Azarcon. “We are confident this will be a mutually beneficial and seamless transition for both teams.”
The acquisition brings Eosensa’s Risk Advisory offering to Scalar’s more than 800 clients and in turn provides Eosensa’s clients with access to Scalar’s technology architecture, integration and managed services resources.
Founded in 2004, Scalar reported $200 million in revenue during financial year 2015.
