WiLAN Initiates Litigation Against RIM
Suit pertains to Bluetooth technologies

OTTAWA, Canada – December 11, 2012 – Wi-LAN Inc. (“WiLAN”) (TSX:WIN) (NASD:WILN) today announced it has initiated litigation claiming patent infringement in the Southern District of Florida against Research In Motion Limited (“RIM”).

The suit against RIM claims infringement of U.S. Patent No. 6,260,168 related to Bluetooth technologies.

WiLAN will be represented by Carlson Caspers.
