Propel ICT Fall cohort to participate in Halifax Demo Day

Canadian Stock News Cantech

Atlantic Canadian accelerator Propel ICT will be holding a Demo Day on Tuesday, November 29 at Pier 21 in Halifax, featuring a speaker series event by Kathy-Lynne Johnson and Yves Boudreau of Alongside, a talk by Propel ICT alumnus Adrian Bentley of AnalyseRe and an after party hosted by McInnes Cooper.
The main event, however, will be a pitch session featuring seven companies from Propel ICT’s Launch program and four companies from the Build program, all of which participated in the 12-week Fall accelerator.
Propel ICT’s Launch Program, which is delivered on-site at Common Ground in St. John’s, Planet Hatch in Fredericton, Startup Zone in Charlottetown, and Volta in Halifax, focuses on early-stage companies and guides them through the process of validating, developing and launching a business.
The Build Program, hosted at the Venn Centre in Moncton, focuses on more developed companies which have progressed past the idea phase and earned initial market traction, to help grow them through an emphasis on sales and international marketing.
The Demo Day arrives while Stephen Palmer, co-founder of Fredericton-based asset management company Remsoft, is working to helm a Growth stage program for Propel ICT, which would be aimed at high-growth Atlantic Canadian companies that might benefit from a formalized program aimed at helping them achieve global success.
Companies being assessed for the Growth program should be an export-focused ICT company with more than $1 million in annual revenue, based in Atlantic Canada, with average annual growth rate of 15%, serving an addressable market of at least $250 million, with a demonstrated ability to execute on their business plan.
